The British painter John William Waterhouse is known for creating realistic yet mystical scenes through his use of rich, evocative colors.

By capturing subtle shifts and harmonies in color, he revealed the inherent beauty of his subjects and brought them to life with a striking sense of vitality.

His work is said to draw viewers into its stories through emotional depth, vivid imagination, and delicate detail.

Hello, @Pher2.Pilar.

On behalf of everyone at the PENUP team, we’d like to congratulate you on being inducted into our Hall of Fame in August 2025.

Please briefly introduce yourself and tell us about your thoughts on selection.

A1. @Pher2.Pilar

Hello to the entire PENUP team,

My name is Pilar, I’m Chilean and currently living in the city of Santiago.

I grew up in the countryside surrounded by nature and beautiful landscapes, alongside my grandparents, my mother, and my sister.

Those memories and that environment have always been a source of inspiration in my life.

Although my profession is Accounting, art has always been my refuge and my way of expressing myself.

I’m passionate about fashion, nature, and art they constantly inspire me to create and keep learning.

It is an immense honor to be part of your Hall of Fame for the month of August.

I feel truly grateful and happy for this opportunity; it is a very meaningful achievement for me.

Thank you to the PENUP team for this recognition, and to each of my friends in the community for their kind words and constant support it’s incredibly motivating.

Q2. @PENUP

You first post dates back to July 2022.

How did you find out about PENUP, and what inspired you to share your work on PENUP?

A2. @Pher2.Pilar

I remember that in 2022 I began interacting with a drawing app on my computer.

Although I enjoyed the process, working with fine details was difficult using only a mouse or touchpad.

Despite those limitations, that experience sparked my curiosity about digital drawing.

It was then that I decided to buy my first tablet in July 2022.

With great enthusiasm, I tried several apps, but none fully convinced me until I discovered PENUP.

When I explored PENUP for the first time, I saw countless posts featuring incredible works by talented artists, full of creativity, color, and technique.

Every post I saw inspired and motivated me even more to continue exploring digital art and for the first time, to share my own creations.

Q3. @PENUP

You were creating works with beautiful colors.

What kind of devices and apps do you use to create your artwork?

A3. @Pher2.Pilar

My first tablet was the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite.

With it, I began to explore digital drawing more seriously it allowed me to experiment with greater freedom, learn new techniques, and start developing my artistic style.

Since April 2025, I’ve been using the Galaxy Tab S9 FE+.

As for the apps, I mainly use PENUP and Infinite Painter, and I often combine both depending on the type of drawing I’m creating.

Q4. @PENUP

There were a variety of works, from portraits to animals and nature.

What inspired you to start drawing?

A4. @Pher2.Pilar

Since childhood, I’ve loved to draw.

Growing up surrounded by nature was my greatest inspiration enjoying a garden full of flowers of different colors and shapes, watching my puppies and kittens play, or simply observing little birds perched on branches.

Nature offers endless forms and a unique kind of beauty.

That connection awakened in me a need to capture that beauty and transform it into art.

My first artistic recognition came in primary school.

I remember that during celebration months, like the Month of the Sea, teachers would ask for drawings to decorate the classroom bulletin board.

I loved participating, and over time, my classmates and teacher began to recognize my drawings.

Eventually, I was put in charge of the bulletin board a task I truly enjoyed.

I also used to draw caricatures of my favorite characters, portraits of my family, or simply creations from my own imagination.

Q5. @PENUP

Many figures expressed with beautiful colors were seen.

We’re curious as to why these people become a part of your paintings.

We’d also like to know more about the kinds of people you most often choose to depict in your work.

A5. @Pher2.Pilar

I portray individuals who convey serenity and elegance.

Through vibrant colors, I seek to balance that tranquility with a sense of energy and vitality.

I draw inspiration from gestures and postures that reflect subtle grace, and I often incorporate personal details in clothing or hair that express my unique style.

Each person I illustrate is a fusion of inner calm and aesthetic presence.

Q6. @PENUP

There were also flowers in a variety of colors.

We're curious about why you draw flowers.

A6. @Pher2.Pilar

I’ve always loved flowers, especially drawing them.

I remember my grandmother had a large, colorful garden in the front yard of our house, filled with different types of flowers.

In the afternoons, I used to help her water them, and it was one of my favorite moments.

I spent a lot of time observing each flower closely, appreciating their shapes, colors, and how they changed with the light or the wind.

Even today, drawing flowers remains something very special to me.

I like to depict them in great detail almost as a way to honor those memories.

It’s also a way to feel close to my grandmother, who passed away in 2021.

Q7. @PENUP

There were also various animals.

We're curious about why you draw animals.

A7. @Pher2.Pilar

I draw animals because they’re incredibly inspiring.

Drawing them allows me to explore different shapes, textures, colors, and expressions.

I feel a special connection with them especially with dogs and cats, who are so sweet and familiar.

The tiger is one of my favorites; I’m fascinated by its stripes and the intensity in its gaze.

I also really enjoy drawing birds, especially because of their colorful and shiny feathers.

I love playing with the variety of color combinations and adding a personal touch to each piece.

Q8. @PENUP

Landscapes capturing nature were also seen.

We’re curious about the reason for drawing landscapes as well as whether the places featured in the works are real locations.

A8. @Pher2.Pilar

Some of the landscapes I draw are inspired by real places I’ve had the chance to visit.

Sometimes I also find references in photographs that catch my attention whether it’s because of the light, shadows, or colors and from there I develop my own interpretation, blending different colors, mainly blue and green, as they’re the ones that connect me most with a sense of serenity.

Q9. @PENUP

You've been showcasing scenes and characters from movies.

We’re curious if you have any particular favorite works or characters.

Is there a new subject or theme you’d like to try exploring in the future?

A9. @Pher2.Pilar

Star Wars is one of my favorite film series, and I also really enjoy its animated shows.

It’s a very appealing universe to draw, with many characters that have unique and memorable designs.

One of my favorite characters is Ahsoka Tano her design inspires me, but so does her story and evolution as a character.

As for new themes, I’m very interested in rainy landscapes, especially those that include people or animals.

I’m also drawn to mountain landscapes; I’ve worked on them before, but I’d like to keep improving.

In addition to these new directions, I’ll continue drawing characters from the Star Wars universe and exploring themes that are already part of my collection landscapes, animals, flowers, fashion outfits, cartoons, and real or imaginary portraits related to nature.

These subjects allow me to freely experiment with light, texture, and vibrant colors, and they’re an essential part of my daily creative process.

Q10. @PENUP

Last question.

Please let us know if there is anything you would like to see improved while using PENUP, or if there is anything you would like to say.

A10. @Pher2.Pilar

I really enjoy the app since I installed it in 2022, it has improved significantly.

One of the features I love most is the wide variety of brushes that have been added over time.

I’d like to suggest an option to view recently used brushes, as that would make the creative process even smoother.

Thank you again for selecting me to be part of your Hall of Fame.

I’m truly happy about this recognition and deeply grateful for the constant support from all my friends in the community.

Wishing the entire team much success.

Thank you for continuing to inspire us!
