PENUP Main banner

Yellow is a bright, eye-catching color.

It’s found in a wide variety of flowers, from spring forsythias and daffodils to summer favorites like sunflowers and marigolds.

Many fruits, such as bananas, lemons, apricots, and yuzu, as well as plants like corn and yellow peppers, also feature this color.

There’s a whole range of yellow animals too, from insects like bees and butterflies to adorable chicks, canaries, frogs, and even fish.

For our first challenge this July, we’ve chosen ‘Yellow’ as our theme, a color known for spreading positive energy.

Yellow is a color that has been present since ancient times.

People used materials like iron oxide and plants to create yellow pigments.

This color remained popular from early civilizations all the way through the Renaissance.

With advances in chemistry, yellow pigments became more durable.

Additionally, the invention of synthetic dyes made it possible to produce a wider range of yellow shades.

Today, yellow can be reproduced with great precision and is widely used in various fields, including fashion, design, and advertising.

Yellow carries a variety of symbolic meanings.

It often represents hope, joy, and brightness, and it is used to convey the warmth and light of the sun.

The color also symbolizes change and innovation, and, as the color of gold, it can signify glory and prosperity.

Expressing what yellow means to you through your own artwork could be both enjoyable and meaningful.
