[Challenge] 2025. March : Let's draw Water
PENUP Main banner

Water has no distinct shape or color of its own.

Its form changes depending on the object or place it occupies - it can start as a small spring, flow into a lake or river, and eventually reach the ocean, creating mighty waves.

As water cycles through our environment, it can transform into tiny particles, becoming mist or rain, and in colder weather, it can fall as snow.

Because of its transparent nature, water reflects its surroundings, which is why it can appear blue when it mirrors the sky, turn red as it captures the hues of the sun, or hold the sparkle of starlight on a dark night.

The theme for the second challenge in March is ‘Water,’ a substance essential to all life.

Humanity has historically flourished around sources of water.

Water was essential for sustaining life and provided convenience for agriculture, transportation, and mobility.

As a result, many of the world's ancient civilizations were born near large rivers or coastal regions abundant in water.

Even today, rivers and seas serve as vital channels for transporting goods and resources.

In the past, water was often regarded as a symbol of divinity.

Water was seen as a symbol of purification because it washes away impurities, and it was regarded as a god of abundance due to its necessity for survival and farming.

In myths from around the world, water was often believed to be the dwelling place of deities, and gods associated with water were considered among the highest order of divine beings.

This month, you might have fun illustrating a water-related myth that you know!

Water is utilized in a variety of ways.

It helps cool equipment that generates heat, is used for cleaning in homes and factories, and is even harnessed to produce electricity by leveraging pressure or flow.

Water jets that compress and spray water are used for precision cutting of metals, and there are technologies that use high-pressure water to extract resources underground.

What comes to your mind when you think of water?

From the water you drink daily to landscapes like rivers, lakes, and oceans, or even stories and imaginations related to water - try capturing these diverse aspects of water in our second challenge this month!
