[CHALLENGE] 2025. MARCH : LET'S DRAW SPRING

When spring arrives, it begins to dye nature with a wide variety of colors.

As the white snow melts, new sprouts emerge from the ground, and leaves begin to appear on the bare branches.

Some trees bloom with gorgeous flowers despite the still chilly weather, and the frozen streams slowly melt and start to flow, nourishing the earth.

Animals that had been hibernating wake up and bustle about, while migratory birds that had flown away return to the mountains and begin to sing.

Our first challenge this March is about ‘Spring,’ the season of life that fills us with excitement.

Spring is a festive season.

Nature starts moving again and it welcomes new life, which is why spring hosted plenty of rituals and celebrations since ancient times.

Agriculturally, festivals were held to plant seeds and wish for a good harvest, while religiously, events got underway to bless the resurrection of nature and new beginnings.

Even today, when spring arrives, people all over the world celebrate the new season with different festivals.

Also, in spring, all sorts of flowers bloom.

When winter starts turning to spring, plum blossoms begin to bloom, forsythia with its yellow flowers signals the start of spring, and azaleas blossom with their pink flowers.

We have daffodils, known as the queen of spring, dandelions that disperse their fluffy seeds, and cherry blossoms that scatter their beautiful petals everywhere.

So, for our challenge this month, you might enjoy capturing flowers that symbolize spring in your mind.

Spring has long been a great subject for painters.

Given that it’s a season that inspires various colors and symbolizes hope and new beginnings, artists have produced countless works with spring as their theme.

While each painter interprets spring differently, you might feel a message of hope full of vitality from the wondrous scenes created by nature every spring.

What comes to your mind when you think of the spring season?

From spring landscapes to various animals and plants stirring within, or even imaginary scenes, capture the diverse aspects of spring in your artwork for this month’s challenge.

This will be proceeded for 15 days.

The challenge is running based on GMT.

Therefore, the start and end times differ depending on time zone of each country, so please refer to GMT time when uploading your work.
