[Challenge] 2025. February : Let's draw Fruit
PENUP Main banner

We eat a variety of fruits.

From red apples to grapes made of multiple berries, and we also enjoy strawberries with a refreshing, sweet flavor.

There are long, yellow bananas, orange-colored oranges, sweet and tangy pineapples, and kiwis.

In addition, we eat juicy watermelons, peaches that belong to the rose family, pomegranates with countless little red berries, and star fruits that actually look like stars.

So many fruits bring joy to our taste buds.

The theme for our second challenge this February is ‘Fruit,’ a type of food that brings happiness with its diverse flavors.

Fruits have been a staple for humanity.

Along with fish and vegetables, people gathered and consumed fruits, and they also used them medicinally to stay healthy.

Once people started to cultivate fruits, fruits became delicacies and important commodities to exchange with other countries.

Nowadays, with advancements in agricultural technology and storage methods, we can enjoy fruits that only grow in specific climates and soils from anywhere in the world.

Fruits are used as ingredients for various dishes as well.

Fresh fruits can be cut and enjoyed in salads, and apples and peaches are often used to make pies.

Strawberries, blueberries, bananas, and other fruits can be made into juices or jellies, and there’s just a wide variety of different foods made from fruits, such as jams, cakes, cookies, and ice creams.

For our challenge, you might have fun drawing a fruit dish you'd like to try one day.

Fruits also appear in various myths.

In Christianity, the apple of Eden is said to have led to the knowledge of good and evil, and in Greek mythology, various fruits, including golden apples, make an appearance as well.

From pineapples in Caribbean myths to plums in Hindu mythology, and peaches in Chinese mythology, we can which specific fruit people cherished in each region through their myths.

What fruit comes to your mind right now?

Whether it's your favorite fruit, a fruit you want to try, or even a fruit from stories and imagination, take on this month’s challenge and enjoy drawing different fruits.
