For our second challenge in May,
we asked all of you to create
something about ‘Cat’
and animal that’s been a beloved
companion for thousands of years.
First, we will introduce the winners
of this challenge through a video.

And as always,
we got so many paintings
and pictures featuring cats.
We got a wide variety of cats
from big cats out in the wild
to little pet cats at home.
Some of you focused on depicting
unique habits or behaviors
you often see with cats.
All in all, we had a great time
sifting through pages and pages
of beautiful cat pictures.

Our first picture has a black cat
with a slick fur coat sitting on
a candle-lit desk.
The cat has its paws on a book
and its green eyes are sparkling
under the candlelight.
A quick glance over at the book,
and you might notice the magical
letters.
Also, look at its neck!
The cat has a strange symbol.
Maybe the cat was summoned
by a wizard.

Here, we’ve got a cat hiding in
some tall grass.
Its constricted pupils and bristling
hair suggests the this cat is on
high alert.
I wonder what’s making this cat
so wary.

Next, we have a girl in a hoodie,
holding a cat in her hands.
The cat has brown fur
and green eyes, and somehow looks
a lot like the girl holding it.
This furry little traveler must have
met its special companion as it was
walking through the forest.
Well done, @Anam!
What do we have here?
We have a white cat through
the fence.
If you look at the front paw against
the wall and the face sticking out,
this cat must be trying to squeeze
itself through the fence.
It’s only managed to push half of
its body through, and the way
its head is stuck means it might
not be able to get through at all.

This cat, wearing a red hat
and scarf, is looking at the sky.
The cloudy sky is sprinkled with
white snowflakes.
The cat's big, curious eyes suggest
that this might be its first time
seeing snow.

Moving on, this woman with
a cold gaze has several cat heads
hanging from her hair.
The cats, however, seem to be
full of emotions, and it appears
they’re all alive and not
just accessories.
We’d imagine Medusa from Greek
mythology might have looked like
this if her hair was made of cats.

Here, we see a cat sitting next to
a woman studying at her desk.
She has a wide smile on her face as
she reads her book and pets the cat.
The cute little cat must be a good
friend, keeping her company as
she studies late into the night.

A solar eclipse is happening above
the Sphynx cat's head.
Its black skin and gold accessories
seem to indicate that this cat
is a special creature.
Together, the cat's expression
and the sun, which looks like
a golden ring obscured by the moon,
create a mysterious atmosphere.

Crossing Cats / @Goldie
Next, we have several cats crossing
the street.
Cars have stopped at the stop line,
and the police officer is signaling
the cats to cross the street.
People watching this amusing sight
must be smiling as they watch
the cats walking in a neat line.

And finally, we have flowers
blooming in the grass, and warm
sunlight showering the flowers
with warmth.
Colorful butterflies are flying
around the kitten sitting
in the grass as well.
Looking at the cat's face smiling
radiantly like the sun, it looks
like it’s happy having all of
the butterflies circling around it.
