A trampoline is an exercise tool
that helps you jump high with
significantly less force.
There are small trampolines for
children to play on, large ones that
can hold multiple people at a time,
and even professional trampolines
for stunts and competitions.
You can even work together to jump
higher on a trampoline, or play
games where you break the opponent's
balance by jumping irregularly
and knocking people to the floor.
At some events,
like basketball games, you might see
people do somersaults while leaping
in the air and performing some
magical dunks, and there are also
games where you can show off
the aerial skills you've been
training for years.
Our first challenge for June
is about 'Trampoline,'
an exercising device that allows you
to take advantage of recoiling
springs to jump high.

The modern trampoline was created by
American gymnast George Nissen
in 1934.
Nissen invented the trampoline
when he saw trapeze artists
performing tricks using a safety net
in a circus.
At the time,
trampolines were used to train
astronauts and gymnasts, but it grew
in popularity when people realized
anyone can perform acrobatic feats
using a trampoline.
It was, in fact, adopted as
an official Olympic sport
in Sydney (2000), and it will be
an official event at the 2024 Paris
Olympics this year.

Trampoline is a sport with
varying levels of difficulty.
You can do different from light
running and somersaults to things
that are difficult to do on
the ground like jumping off high
platforms.
In the case of athletes, using
trampolines requires high skill and
absolute accuracy as they tend to
jump higher than your everyday
trampoline enthusiasts, and they’re
subject to a scoring system
that judges difficulty level,
skill execution, and hang time.
It’d be fun to draw or paint about
various activities using trampolines
and the techniques athletes use as
they soar through the air.

Also, trampolines are great for
exercise.
They improve cardiovascular
endurance, protect our joints from
overloading, and increase
the strength of our lower body by
increasing tension in various
muscles.
It’s a new form of exercise that can
help you improve your sense of
balance and have fun for a long time
taking advantage of its bouncy
nature.
What comes to your mind
when you think of trampolines?
Take on this month’s challenge with
trampolines of various shapes
and designs.
You can send us paintings of
trampolines you've played
on to do some tricks of your own,
or new types of trampolines
from your imagination.
This will be proceeded for 15 days.
from June. 1, Sat (GMT)
to June. 15, Sat (GMT).
The challenge is running based
on GMT.
Therefore, the start and end times
differ depending on time zone
of each country, so please refer to
GMT time when uploading your work.
We look forward to your
participation and amazing works!
