Green is an easy color to find.
It’s everywhere and all around us.
From the plants you grow at home
to the grass and flowers
in small gardens and parks,
the color green helps create
beautiful landscapes.
Depending on the occasion
or fashion trend, people sometimes
wear clothes or accessories
that come in green.
You’ll also spot green
while walking down the street,
waiting for a green light or
looking out for signs
at traffic lights, or while
driving a car or on board a train.
For our first challenge this May,
we want you to draw something
featuring 'Green,'
a color that comforts us and relaxes us.

Green takes on a different meaning
depending on where you are.
In Asia, green is a symbol of
fertile land and youth, and a color
that represents good health.
Green was such a beloved color
in Asia, people used to wear green
gemstones as important accessories.
However, in Europe,
green often stood for
disorder, violation, misfortune,
or as a color of poison,
which is why emerald,
a precious gemstone,
was shunned by people for so long.
But when we discovered the spectrum
of sunlight, and as red became
widely used as a color
that indicates danger,
green gradually became the color of
safety and freedom.

Green is said to be
the most visible color as well.
Green sits right in that bandwidth
of light where human beings are
most sensitive to.
That’s why green is easy to find,
regardless of the amount of
ambient light.
As such, instructions found on
electronic equipment are
often green, and things that
need to be clearly visible,
such as traffic lights,
emergency exit signs,
and lasers are mostly green.
This month, it could be a great idea
to draw various objects or places
where green is featured heavily
as a color.

Green is a stable color.
It is less likely to irritate
the eyes and relieves fatigue.
It balances our emotions.
It also reduces psychological stress
and relieves muscle tension,
which is why walking, hiking,
and trekking through forests,
and seeing plenty of greenery are
recommended for people who are
severely stressed or sensitive.
What kind of green comes to mind
for you right now?
From the green we find in nature,
to green things from our creativity.
Take on our challenge this month
with your own bit of green.
This will be proceeded for 15 days.
from May. 1, Wed (GMT)
to May. 15, Wed (GMT).
The challenge is running based
on GMT.
Therefore, the start and end times
differ depending on time zone
of each country, so please refer to
GMT time when uploading your work.
We look forward to your
participation and amazing works!
Thank you.
