[Notice] PENUP Update Ver 3.9.15

Greetings. PENPLE’s!

The PENUP Android app version
has been updated to 3.9.15.

Today, we would like to introduce
you to the changes
in version 3.9.15 of PENUP.

First, the new version has improved
drawing tools.

1-1 New brushes

The PENUP team continues to work on
developing better brushes.

With this latest update,
we’ve added 18 new brushes so far.

We’ll share more details about
the new brushes with another update
later on.

1-2 New brush settings and options

Our latest update allows you to
set the maximum and minimum values
you want for ‘Size’ and ‘Opacity’ of
the ‘Stroke’ in the Brush Settings,
which helps you draw using
your desired brush settings.

This feature is available through
the Stroke option in Brush Settings.

If you adjust the size,
you can change the ‘Maximum size’ or
‘Minimum size’ of the brush
independently of the Drawing Tools
settings window.

Setting a higher ‘Maximum size’ and
‘Minimum size,’ makes the brush
larger.

Conversely,
if you set the ‘Maximum size’ and
‘Minimum size’ low, you can make
the brush thinner.

However, these values are affected
by the ‘Size’ you select, and the
‘Minimum size’ cannot be larger than
the ‘Maximum size.’

Also, you can adjust the opacity
along with size.

As with size, you can adjust the
maximum/minimum opacity values
independently of the settings
window.

Once you've set each value,
the opacity of the brush will change
depending on any adjustments to
opacity.

Use existing brushes and adjust
the size and opacity to create and
use the exact brush settings
you want!

1-3 Save your own brush settings

The updated PENUP app comes with
a function that allows you to copy
and save brushes so that you can
access your own brushes along with
PENUP’s existing brushes.

Go to the upper right corner of
the Brush Settings window and use
the Copy icon to use this function.

Create your own brushes
to paint your masterpiece.

1-4 Change the order of your brushes

A new function that helps you
rearrange the order of your brushes
has been added to PENUP to give you
easy access to the brush
you’ve created and the brush
you want to use at any given time.

All you need to do is press and hold
the brush you want to move,
then drag it to the position
you want to move.
Once you drop the brush,
it will stay in its new position.

Unfortunately, you can’t move
a brush to another tab.
Brushes can be moved within
the same tab only.

So, try creating your own brush and
keep it in the order that feels
most comfortable for you!

1-5 Duplicate and Transform layers

Version 3.9.15 comes with
new Duplicate and Transform function
in the Layer Settings window.

That means you can duplicate layers
in the Layer Settings window.

If you click Duplicate from
Layer Options, you can copy
the layer you've selected.

To convert, you can select the drawn
object within the layer,
then you can move, resize,
and invert it.

Also, the new version of PENUP has
other features that make using
layers more convenient.

Previously, you weren’t allowed
to change the canvas size
if the layer was locked.

But now, you can use
the zoom in/out functions even when
the layer is locked.

Additionally,
we’ve changed the height of windows
depending on the number of layers
you have.

This can help you see the canvas
more clearly when drawing.

Test these new features out
and learn how to duplicate/transform
layers in different ways.

1-6 Smudge brush gets an upgrade

We've upgraded the smudge brush
to make the smudge effect easier
to use.

Use the improved smudge brush to mix
various colors and use them
in different paintings.

1-7 New color extraction function
for reference images

A color extraction function has been
added to the Reference function
to make drawing easier
when using a reference image.

You can use this feature
by clicking on the pipette icon
in the Reference window.

Press the pipette to extract a color
from a reference image, and apply
the color to the brush you're using.

Extract colors from reference images
and incorporate them into your
own creation.

Second, we’ve added a function
that lets you adjust the canvas size
of Photo drawings.

You can adjust the canvas size
of a photo drawing, which makes
Photo drawing so much easier.

This function applies
when using the Photo Drawing feature
available at the top of the home
screen.

When you select an image to use for
photo drawing, the app adjusts
the canvas size automatically
to fit the image.

So, try using our newest function
for photo drawing, to choose
the image size you actually wanted!

Third, there’s a new “Repost” tab
on your profile page now.

We've added a Repost tab to
the Profile page for better access
to SNS features.

You’ll see this Repost tab
in the feed on your Profile page.

Repost works done by other artists,
and interact with more users
as you continue using PENUP!

Fourth, a “Follow Back” button
has been added on multiple screens.

Previously,
we introduced the new “Follow Back”
feature when we released
version 3.9.12.

With our latest update, you can use
this “Follow Back” function on
a number of different screens.

This makes it much easier to follow
users who follow you because you can
see them in your follower list
or in other users’ follower lists.

Communicate with your fellow
PENUP users using the “Follow Back”
function!

We’ve updated other parts
of PENUP as well, so look out
for new announcements.

PENUP always works hard to make sure
everyone enjoys a fun
and happy painting experience.

Thank you!
