We use all sorts of different soaps
every day.
Some of us use soap bars,
with which we rub our hands
vigorously to create a lather,
while others use liquid soaps
that come in various containers.
There are gel-type soaps that
you squeeze out like toothpaste,
and we also have paper-type soap
that you pull out one sheet
at a time.
Then, you have products such as
shampoos created specifically for
moisturizing or adding a fragrance,
and foam soaps that produce
a batch of foam when you
press the dispenser.
So, our first challenge for April
is about 'Soap,'
a tool we use to clean away dirt.

Now, it is said that soap has been
around for a very long time.
In ancient Egypt, it was prescribed
as a medicine for skin diseases,
and in West Asia, people added
fragrance to use soap as a beauty
product.
In ancient Rome, physicians had
recipes for making soap and promoted
people to use soap when doing
laundry or washing one's body.
But most soaps at the time were made
of animal fat, which meant they
didn’t smell very nice.
That’s why they didn’t really
catch on.

Today, soap is also used as a
base material for crafts.
It’s something that’s readily
available everywhere, and they’re
neither too hard nor too soft,
making them a great material for
creating various types of works.
You can also add different scents
and colors to soap and use it
to make objects, including flowers
or large sculptures like buildings.
For our challenge this month,
you might have a great time drawing
pictures of the things
you want to make with soap.

As an aside, when you’re washing
your hands, you should always
use soap.
Create a good lather, and make sure
to wash your palms, the backs of
your hands, between your fingers,
and under your nails thoroughly,
then remove any moisture.
The simple act of washing your hands
can help prevent most waterborne
infectious diseases.
So, it’s best to wash your hands
frequently with soap.
So, what comes to your mind
when you think of soap?
From actual soaps that come in
all sorts of shapes and scents,
to sculptures or other creative
items, try the challenge by drawing
different types of soap.
This will be proceeded for 15 days.
from April. 1, Mon (GMT)
to April. 15, Mon (GMT).
The challenge is running based
on GMT.
Therefore, the start and end times
differ depending on time zone
of each country, so please refer to
GMT time when uploading your work.
We look forward to your
participation and amazing works!
Thank you.
