[Challenge] 2024. February : Let's draw Cow

Humans have been portraying cows
in paintings for a long time.

In the Neolithic Age, people drew
images of bison to pray for success
in hunting.
They also expressed various wishes
by drawing images of cows,
which were considered gods.

Artists depicted the daily lives of
cows as important beings that help
with farming and transportation, and
also portrayed cows working quietly
as a reflection of their own feelings
or situations.

The first challenge topic for
February is 'Cow', an animal that
has coexisted with humans for a long
time.

Cows appear in many myths.

In ancient Egypt, the beautiful cow
was called Apis, the incarnation of
the god of creation.
When it died, it was mummified and
given a funeral.

In ancient Mesopotamia,
the bull was considered a symbol of
the highest god.
The bull often appears as an animal
symbolizing the god in Minoan and
Greek mythology.

However, not all cows were considered
gods.
Special cows with beautiful fur,
horns, or unique colors became
objects of worship.

There are many different types of
cows.

Because human have been raised cows
for a long time, each region has cows
with different features.

Cows have a variety of fur colors,
such as tan or black, and there are
also cows with spotted patterns.

There are species with and without
horns, and there are also cows with
acromions like camels.

We believe it would be fun to draw
a lot of cows in the places where you
live.
