We wish you good health and
happiness this year as well.
We encounter different paths every
day.
You may go to work or school through
the road in front of your house, or
you may take a walk along a
tree-lined trail or a path between
grassy forests.
To get to your destination, you pass
through an alley, walk on a busy
road with many people, or take a
unique route at a travel
destination.
The first challenge theme for 2024
is 'Road', the space used for
traffic.

As the saying goes, ‘All roads lead
to Rome,’ Rome have been active in
building roads.
The Roman emperors thought that a
good path would lead to respect for
Roman culture rather than invasion
by enemies.
Therefore, the roads were
maintained, paved with stones and
cement, designated by law,
standardized, and steadily managed.
Some of the roads built in this way
from the Roman era still remain and
can be walked around, and some are
currently used as sidewalks or
driveways.

The Silk Road was a trade route
between East and West.
It was a road connecting China with
Central Asia, Europe, and Africa,
and was a conduit for long-distance
trade and exchange of civilizations.
Therefore, the Silk Road was a route
that transported various cultures
such as architecture, customs, and
interesting stories along with goods.
It would be fun to draw pictures of
various stories and objects passed
down through the road.

Roads are also places where you can
encounter various landscapes.
There are roads on top of sheer
cliffs, roads that only appear
during low tide, and roads even in
large grasslands and deserts.
Tunnels are drilled into mountains
to create roads, and now, with the
advancement of technology, tunnels
can be drilled into the sea to
connect regions or countries.
What road are you thinking of right
now?
Take on the challenge by drawing
pictures of various roads, from the
road in front of your house to
places you want to visit or roads
you imagine!
This will be proceeded for 15 days.

on GMT.
Therefore, the start and end times
differ depending on time zone
of each country, so please refer to
GMT time when uploading your work.
