[Review] Challenge of July (2)

For our second challenge in July,
we asked our PENUP users to draw
something about a ‘Forest’
First, we introduce the winners of
this challenge through a video.

* If you can’t see the video,
please check the link below.

Go to the epilogue of
the 2nd challenge of July

And we really did get to see
a lot of different forests.

We got some beautiful landscapes
with a variety of trees, plants,
and flowers growing in nature,
some drawings describing
the impressions you got from looking
at a forest, and some imaginary
forests as well.
We had a great time getting a chance
to see some unique landscapes and
beautiful scenes from all over
the world.

Thank you to everyone who
participated in the challenge with
great artwork.

Then, shall we meet the winners of
the challenge?

Fairy in the forest 2 / @Marina
Recalling Forest / @Dr.Gazi

Here, there’s a stream winding
its way through the forest lined
with trees.
A woman with her arms slightly
raised to the side is bathed in
a bright, mysterious light
It actually seems like she’s
the one creating the light
to brighten up the forest.
Given the way the green flowers are
in full bloom and glowing, the woman
might just be an elf or fairy
protecting the forest.
This artwork is by @Marina.

This one features the striking face
of a woman deep in thought.
First, her body has skyscrapers and
neon signs glowing in the dark.
Meanwhile, her hair has a thick
forest with trees, flowers, and
plants near a lake, The drawing
could mean that although her body
is inside the busy city,
this woman yearns to be in nature.
This artwork is by @Dr.Gazi.

Monet's Forest / @cmac60

A small stream trickles down from
a dense forest sloping down from
the mountainside.
The way the fog is everywhere and
the sky is gray, it could
have rained just now.
The forest is covered with a thick
veil of fog, shifting the colors and
lines around.
Although it’s just a little slice of
nature, which is said to be
the greatest form of art,
the painting almost feels
intimidating.
This artwork is by @Nisia.

This forest is full of trees.
The flowers visible through
the green leaves
add a touch of glamor to
a refreshing atmosphere.
Claude Monet is said to have built
the garden of his dreams.
Maybe it was because he wanted
a piece of the beautiful forests
and nature for himself.
This artwork is by @cmac60.

Forest Trail / @sarpal
little treehouse in the Forest
/ @xabat

This large forest, featuring a bunch
of trees, looks different from
different angles.
Between the rows of trees, appears
to be people taking a leisurely
stroll through the forest, and
enjoying the scenery.
We’d also love to walk along
the forest trail together, and
really immerse ourselves in
the scenery created by the natural
environment.
This artwork is by @sarpal.

Next, we have a wooden tree house
built between a couple of trees.
The way the tree house is built
high up off the ground,
the winding staircase, combined with
the forest gives you a sense this is
a special place.
The different colors also come
together to paint a beautiful
picture of the forest.
It’s pretty easy to see why this
person decided to build a tree
house here.
This artwork is by @xabat.

Mushroom forest / @siana

The hot sunlight colors the sky
in different shades, and the trees
are pointing straight up into
the sky.
You’ll also find vines wrapped
around the trees, interesting plants
and some flowers filling the gaps.
This could be a scene from a virgin
tropical forest.
This artwork is by @lahughes22.

See the giant mushrooms growing in
the field along the stream?
The tall tree-like mushrooms on one
side of the meadow have created
a forest.
A couple of giant mushrooms have
made it to the other side of
the stream, which means it’s just
a matter of time until the other
side of the meadow also becomes
a mushroom forest.
This artwork is by @siana.

The Magic Forest / @R.A.A

Here, we have a pond in the forest
surrounded by trees packed tightly
together.
The deer, which might have come for
a drink, looks around and seems wary
of its surroundings.
Its beautiful antlers are glowing,
almost in gold, under the starlight.
If you look carefully, you’ll see
small specs of gold floating away
from the deer’s antlers.
This forest could be a magical
place with magical creatures.
This artwork is by @R.A.A.

(Untitled) / @youngsook

In our last painting, we have
a forest in the middle of autumn.
The trees are shedding their red,
yellow, and brown leaves, and
they’ve also let go
of old branches to slim down and
get ready for the cold winter.
Far off in the distance, it looks
like clouds are coming. The forest
just might take on the look of
winter very soon.
This artwork is by @youngsook.

These are the 10 winners.
Congratulations!
