Hello PENPLEs.

The new year 2019 has started.
It is indeed a year of new changes.
The challenge this time is themed on “Number”.

The common numbers we use all across the world in the present times is Indian Arabic numbers like 0, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9.

Among these numbers, “0” is the latest invention.
0 initially was a symbol that said “no number indicated”.

But as the time passed, decimal notation was established with the symbol 0 and people were able to do arithmetic operation.

Numbers have their own meanings.
For that reason,

different cultures and countries have their own favorite and least favorite numbers.

Number 4 is positive in western countries, but it is one of the least favored number in eastern countries.

The eastern region connotes 4 with death (in Chinese character) and thus, it is least favored number.
In the meantime, 13 is unfortunate number in many countries including the states.

In the buildings in some countries like US, there is no 13th floor; 14th floor comes right after 12th floor.

It is said that France does not use 13 for their street number as it is believed that 13 brings unluck.
