[Interview] HOF January 2018 @koo

Hello PENPLEs!
We've brought you today the interview with our HOF of the month.
At PENUP, we are able to meet artists with their own world of style through digital drawing.
Those artists that have walked along the long way have their own mood and art work style.
Perhaps, it is this long journey of the artists that have made the artists - who work on a long term - to leave such deeply moved.

@koo, our HOF of January 2018 is also a type of artist that gives us such impression.
He has been uploading his artworks since 2013 at PENUP.
With landscape, portrait and still life oil paintings, of which the line boundary is quite vague, the artist presents us similar presentation and style art works.

We will begin our interview with @koo.
It may be an interview where we could feel the long journey of an artist that has been aspiring to achieve his dream.

Now, let us begin the interview.

Q1. @PENUP :
Hello @Koo. You've chosen as the first HOF of this year in 2018.

How do you feel?

A1. @koo :
First, I would like to thank you.
It was quite flattering to hear about this news, but it made me quite nervous in a sense because I've never thought about it.
I would like to show my gratitude towards the PENLE management team who have given this happiness although I may not be that skilled; my gratitude also goes out to those PENPLEs who always cheer me up and give me support.

Q2. @PENUP :
Please introduce yourself.

A2. @koo :
Hello, PENPLEs!
My name is Koo chul-ho also known as @koo.

Q3. @PENUP :
You are getting many congratulations messages on your feed now.
Do you happen to interact with other users?
You give many "likes" and comments to other users' pieces.

Do you have anything you've learned as you interacted with PENUP users?

A3. @koo :
It is such a pleasure that I can interact with those people who like draw.
They also encourage me to sustainably carry on my roles.

Q4. @PENUP :
You've uploaded about 360 artworks.
Going down, we see that the house in the snow uploaded on November 30, 2013 seems to be the first artwork.

What was the reason behind your consistency from 2013 to 2018?

A4. @koo :
I believe that all the PENPLEs who love drawings and who are with me for drawing are the motivation behind the artwork.

Q5. @PENUP :
You usually draw still life, portrait and landscape.
These three artworks are different in properties, but from human perspective, what difference do you have ?

A5. @koo :
This is quite difficult question for me.
I still lack in skill, so there's quite much distance between my insights and drawings.
From what I can tell, the portraits and subjects need delicate expression.
The still life expresses the live and the lifeless ones, and portraits always come with body language and expression.
These are the attractions for myself, as well as tasks.

Q6. @PENUP :
What catches my attention is that the traditional still life.
The impressionist Cezanne said she went through total 100 rounds of working time.
The still life may seem stoic and simple, so it is quite difficult to induce its own style.

Your still life drawing is quite constrained, but the arrangement of objects, location are well harmonized.

What do you focus on for your still life?

A6. @koo :
It's quite difficult, but try my best to make it more realistic.

Q7. @PENUP :
In your first drawing, the touch of the pen and the touch of the line will be quite divided.
I guess this was the first part of study.
But now, I think your touch looks freely.
Everyone go through that course when they start mobile art.
But now, can I give some tips to the venues?

A7. @koo :
I think can answer from my situation.
There were many drawing apps, but each drawing app had its own property.
Please use app you like. But the important part is looking for the candidates.

Q8. @PENUP :
In the drawing app, you seem to use the oil painting brush.
You always present the thicker and serious lines with more of light-toned drawings.
When you use different drawing apps on the same site, you can find the shoes you like.

What kind of drawing app and tool do you usually use?

A8. @koo :
I usually use the app called "Autodesk Sketchbook, "ArtRage".
And I usually use basic tool like oil painting brush.

Q9. @PENUP :
In your feed, there is a Galaxy Note 8 drawing from another artist.
So I think you have a lot of interest in mobile devices.

Which device do you use?

A9. @koo :
I use Galaxy Note T and Tab S3 always.

Q10. @PENUP :
As a user that actively takes initiatives and gives final products with liveliness, it is quite lively and active resolution.

You are use and enjoy PENUP for a long time, Can you show us your tip to enjoy a PENUP?

A10. @koo :
It's not exclusive to me.
But, the core part of PENUP where people can interact with many will be the one that can catch the eyes of many.

Q11. @PENUP :
We are here with the last question.
Anything you want from the PENUP event team?

A11. @koo :
Up until now, we are okay with PENUP.
Thank you the management staffs as a member that loves PENUP.

The interview with @koo seems to make us think that the love for drawing starts from endless passion and affection.

January seems to be an empty space without anything written.
It is time when you think you want to write your resolution while taking rest at home.
At this time of the year, you want to write something in your calendar.
This is a detailed journey preparations where you plan something to watch alive and those who want happiness in the journey.
Please go ahead and fill you vacant paper with beautiful stories. : )
