British painter William Huggins portrayed animals with transparent colors and fine detail, bringing them vividly to life.

Through delicate lines that convey expression, gaze, and texture, he portrayed animals not as mere background elements, but as individual beings with their own presence.

The animals in his works seem infused with emotion, offering viewers the joy of connecting and communicating with them.

Likewise, for the February Hall of Fame, artist @Lenka also invites us to feel a sense of communion with nature through her depictions of animals.

Artist @Lenka, who creates a wide range of animal artworks, uploaded her first piece to PENUP in March 2022.

She discovered PENUP through a Galaxy Tab S6 Lite she received as a Christmas gift from her son, and although she tried several drawing apps, she eventually settled on PENUP for its clean and convenient interface.

She began with simple subjects like vegetables, but after learning that she could share her work, she started uploading her drawings.

The first ‘Like’ she received became a great source of motivation, encouraging her to continue drawing.

Now, shall we hear from @Lenka about her works through this interview?

Q1. @PENUP

Hello, @Lenka.

This is the PENUP team.

On behalf of everyone at the PENUP team, we’d like to congratulate on you on being inducted into our Hall of Fame in February 2026.

Please briefly introduce yourself and tell us about your thoughts on selection.

A1. @Lenka

My name is Lenka.

I am 68 years old and I come from Slovakia in Central Europe.

When I read that I had been selected for the Hall of Fame, I honestly couldn’t believe it.

I was incredibly excited.

I spent the whole day smiling and receiving congratulations and likes on my drawings.

I am very grateful for this recognition, which I truly did not expect.

Q2. @PENUP

We could see many of your works depicting realistic subjects.

What made you start drawing?

A2. @Lenka

Drawing fascinated me even when I was young, although I never actually drew.

I always wanted to try it.

I raised four sons, and when I was younger, I didn’t have time for it.

So I finally decided to start drawing after retiring.

I completely fell in love with it.

It gives me a great sense of fulfillment and joy.

Q3. @PENUP

We noticed that your works feature a wide variety of animals, including dogs and cats.

We’re curious about why you choose to draw animals.

What do you think is the unique charm of animals?

A3. @Lenka

I wanted to preserve a memory of my Yorkshire terrier, so I tried drawing him, and it turned out quite well.

That’s how I started drawing animals that I love.

I have drawn the pets of my sons, dogs and cats, as well as animals belonging to my friends, who sent me photos.

I love nature and animals, so I also look for photos online and use them as inspiration.

The animal world is perfect and fascinating.

Q4. @PENUP

We also saw birds with vibrant and colorful feathers in your works.

What inspires you to draw birds?

A4. @Lenka

As I mentioned before, I love all living creatures, including birds.

I enjoy watching them, and in winter I feed them at my window.

When I was a child, I also kept canaries and budgerigars.

The diversity and colors of birds are fascinating and very inspiring.

Q5. @PENUP

We noticed artworks that capture the appearance of insects as well.

What inspired you to create these works?

Also, if there is a theme you would like to challenge yourself with in the future, please tell us what it is.

A5. @Lenka

The only thing I don’t really like is insects, because I’m afraid of them.

But when you look at their details under a magnifying glass, they become fascinating.

Besides animals, I also enjoy drawing natural landscapes.

That is something I would like to improve on in the future.

PENUP Hall of Fame

Q6. @PENUP

Please let us know if there is anything you would like to see improved while using PENUP, or if there is anything you would like to say.

A6. @Lenka

I still haven’t discovered all the brush possibilities in the app, and I would really like to master them.

I would also like to sincerely thank you for this recognition.

It truly made me very happy.❤️❤️❤️

How did you enjoy the interview with @Lenka?

This is the artwork the artist said she wanted to share with all PENPLEs.

She chose this piece because the world of animals is a constant source of inspiration for her, and she has a profound love for it.

In addition, the artist left the following message for all PENPLEs.

I sincerely thank all the members of the PENUP team from the bottom of my heart for granting me such a meaningful award.

I hold this award very dearly, and thanks to it, I felt great joy.

I hope to be able to deliver joy to everyone through beautiful drawings in the future as well.

Thank you.❤️❤️❤️
