On a visit to the Chatanooga Aquarium in Chatanooga, TN USA, I was in awe of the giagantic Arapaima specimens that they had in one of the large freshwater tanks. They had over 4 of them, and each one was close to 10 feet long! These fish are native to the Amazon River basin and are among some of the largest freshwater fish in the world. Arapaimas are also known as Pirarucu. These fish also have a special "lung" in addition to gills that allows them to breathe air!
